“Pelajar Indonesia merupakan pelajar sepanjang hayat yang kompeten,
berkarakter, dan berperilaku sesuai nilai-nilai Pancasila.” Projek penguatan profil pelajar Pancasila, sebagai salah satu sarana pencapaian profil pelajar Pancasila, memberikan kesempatan kepada peserta didik untuk “mengalami pengetahuan” sebagai proses penguatan karakter sekaligus kesempatan untuk belajar dari lingkungan sekitarnya. Dalam kegiatan projek profil ini, peserta didik memiliki kesempatan untuk mempelajari tema-tema atau isu penting seperti perubahan iklim, anti radikalisme, kesehatan mental, budaya, wirausaha, teknologi, dan kehidupan berdemokrasi sehingga peserta didik dapat melakukan aksi nyata dalam menjawab isu-isu tersebut sesuai dengan tahapan belajar dan kebutuhannya.
Penguatan projek profil pelajar Pancasila diharapkan dapat menjadi sarana yang optimal dalam mendorong peserta didik menjadi pelajar sepanjang hayat yang kompeten, berkarakter, dan berperilaku sesuai dengan nilai-nilai Pancasila. Projek penguatan profil pelajar Pancasila adalah pembelajaran lintas disiplin ilmu dalam mengamati dan memikirkan solusi terhadap permasalahan di lingkungan sekitar untuk menguatkan berbagai kompetensi dalam Profil Pelajar Pancasila. Pendidik dapat tetap melaksanakan pembelajaran berbasis projek di kegiatan mata pelajaran (intrakurikuler). Pembelajaran berbasis projek di intrakurikuler bertujuan mencapai Capaian Pembelajaran (CP), sementara projek penguatan profil pelajar Pancasila bertujuan mencapai kompetensi profil pelajar Pancasila.
